Privacy notice
Last updated 15 October 2026. Covers the UK and US sites.
Darling Mellow Ltd (trading as Wellknown), registered in England and Wales, company number 16314161. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@wellknown.online.
What we collect
- Bookings: your name, email and phone number, the names of the people you book for, your treatment, date and time, and anything you tell us.
- Health answers: for each guest, their age, whether they are pregnant, any health conditions you tick and any details you add. This is health data, which the law treats as sensitive, so we only collect it with your explicit consent (the tick box when you book), use it only to pass to the venue you book, and keep it no longer than we need to.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep the payment reference and amount.
- Messages: questions you send a venue through our site, and their replies.
- Venue partners: business and contact details, bank details for payouts, portal login details, and activity in the partner portal.
- Security logs: IP address and pages requested, kept for up to 30 days.
Why, and our lawful basis (UK)
- To make and manage your booking, take payment and send confirmations and reminders: contract.
- To pass health answers to the venue so it can give your treatment safely: your explicit consent. You can withdraw it by contacting us, but the venue may then be unable to treat you.
- To keep records for tax and accounting: legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure: legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
- The venue you book, so it can look after you. It becomes an independent controller of that data.
- Stripe (payments), Namecheap (email hosting) and Hetzner (server hosting, in Germany), as our processors.
We don't sell or share your data for advertising, and we don't send marketing emails unless you've asked to receive them.
How long we keep it
Health answers: deleted 12 months after the appointment. Booking and payment records: 6 years after the appointment (tax law). Partner accounts: while the partnership lasts and 6 years after.
Your rights
UK: you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy, by emailing us. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
US: depending on the state you live in (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas), you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it and to delete it. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, and we only use health information to arrange the treatment you booked. Email us to use any of these rights; we won't treat you differently for doing so.
Venue listings
Listings for venues that haven't joined come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL) and businesses' own websites. Owners can ask us to correct or remove a listing at any time.
